Kona 2008 XC/BC Stem 31.8

Strong 4-bolt design to hold your bar in place over the roughtest trails. Black nnodized aliuminum made from one piece of solid material. Strong+Cheap=two of my favorite words, and this stem falls into that category. You know you like those words too...

    Comments:

What we have here is a generic stem with "Kona" painted on it. Its not really an attractive stem. Flat black shot on alloy, not CNC'd but molded aluminum and held together by 4 small bolts and 2 for the steerer tube. I have to admit, I do not like stems with the open front cap that holds the bar on. Raceface has them too and I get itchy thinking about the day it cracks and hurls me off the bike. This is not a burly stem, but a replacement type for XC and trail riders. It's pretty lightweight and gets the job done but don't expect it go on a freeride bike.

    Comments:

i bought this stem for my hardtail and it was good until the weak bolts got striped. the faceplate with the open face is weak looking, i thought it may crack soon too. make sure you have plenty of health insurance when you buy this stem.
