To keep your Avid brakes functioning properly, check your pads for wear and replace them when necessary. Organic compound pads are softer for quieter braking and increased modulation, while metallic pads dissipate heat better and last a bit longer. Two pads, one retraction spring and a mounting bolt are included (enough for one brake) in each pad set. And, choose an aluminum backing plate if you're really counting the grams.

Box Three V-Point Brake Levers are the most versatile levers in the entire Box family. Available in either short or long reach versions, Box Three Levers are reversible, allowing users to 'flip' the lever for use on either side of the handlebar. CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, Box Two™ Brake Post Extenders easily mount to any frame's existing cantilever brake bosses. They provide an additional 16 mm of brake arm positioning. Typically, they are most useful when a rider transitions from one wheel size to the next (i.e., 451 to 406).
